Description
Stratigraphy and Paleontology of the Late Neogene Strata of the Caloosahatchee River Area of Southern Florida
by
Jules DuBar
Published in 1958 by the Florida Geological Survey in 1958 as Geological Bulletin Number 40, hardcover, about 5.75 by 9 inches, 14.5 by 23 cm., 267 pages including 11 full-page black and white photographic plates and 49 text figures consisting of photographs, charts, and graphs
"Stratigraphy and Paleontology of the Late Neogene Strata of the Caloosahatchee River Area of Southern Florida" is a survey of the late Eocene mollusks found in Southwestern Florida. The book contains two parts, the first dealing with the stratigraphy of the area and the second, with the paleontology of the mollusks found in the area. This area was one of the most productive areas for finding fossil shells in Florida. The descriptions of these fossils and their photographic representations in the book make this a very important study of the geological history of this part of the state. This is an ex-library book and as such, has a number of library stamps inside its covers and on its' flyleaf pages. It has a library catalog label taped over the lower spine. The front cover is slightly separating from the body of the book but has been reinforced with acid-free tape.
