This comprehensive study is the sole complete reference on this family to date. It covers all known species with details like scientific name, type location, range, remarks, references, and often photographs or drawings of type specimens. An informative introduction discusses the biology, anatomy, and ecology. The main section systematically presents the species alphabetically. Appendices include unidentified/doubtful species and a listing of nomina nuda for recent and fossil forms. A thorough bibliography is provided. However, the lack of an index of species and genera hinders usability. Overall, it remains a significant contribution to malacological literature.
