ISBN 97982218955236, Published in 2023 by the Author in Vietnam, printed in the USA. In hardcover, about 8.25 by 11 inches or 20 by 27.75cm., 141 pages including 63-page sized color photographic plates.

This book is the sixth in a series of books by the author which mainly introduce new species and a few higher taxonomic entities that he has found mainly in Southeastern Asia along with some from India, and from Tanzania. Often Thach's work is shared by him with other experts in the field and the reasoning behind the new classifications are described and illustrated. In this book 123 new species and subspecies are described. They include 77 new marine species, 41 new land species, and 5 new freshwater shells. Puzzling to me is the cover also states there are 18 new bivalves described as new. That would make the total of new shells 141 unless the bivalves are already included with the marine species. A small point that takes nothing away from the value of these books. Also in this book 1 new Genus and 1 new Subgenus are described as new.

Since these books are published by the author and they are expensive to print it is sad that 2 of the books in the series are already out of print. In our correspondence Dr. Thach has no plans currently to reprint them. So my advice is to get them while you can. One thing that was troublesome for me was the similarity of the titles in this series. When I mentioned this to a new friend and customers, they came up with what I think is a brilliant solution. "Refer to the books by the color of their covers". Problem solved and I am pleased to introduce you to the "Green Book".
