This book is a complete guide to the more than 130 specimens of clams and mussels found in the rivers, lakes and ponds of Tennessee. It is difficult to find a copy of this book today and, I was surprised to find a copy that appears to be brand new. It is nicely illustrated and contains thorough descriptions and complete synonymic listings for the shells. Also in the book are written descriptions of the shells, as well as notes on the life history and ecology of each of the species.
