It has been a while since the 1999 book "Recent Xenophora" by Kurt Kreipl and Axel Alf has gone out of print. So, it is nice to see this new publication on this popular family. There have been only a few taxonomic changes in the family since the older book was published, the new book is a worthwhile addition to your library. The photographs of the specimens are excellent, dorsal, ventral and lateral views of each species are shown. Often, more than one specimen is illustrated and, there are closeup insets showing key identification points for the shells are included. The descriptive material is concise, and it provides interesting information about the shells and the family.
