ISBN 9780565009786, published in 1986 by the British Museum of Natural History, UK, hardcover, about 6.5 by 9.5 inches (16.5 by 24.5 cm.), 227 pages, colored frontispiece and 99 black and white photographs in text, of shells, SEM scans, and drawings. Also included are tables and maps.
This is a comprehensive study of marine mollusks in the family Littorinidae that are found in the mangroves of the Indo-Pacific. It includes the biology, ecology, and anatomical studies of these shells, and a revision of the classification of the shells. It also presents an update to the complex of these shells previously classified as
Littorina scabra
now reclassified as belonging to the genus
Littoraria
of Griffith & Pidgeons.. In this book are the descriptions of two new species and one new sub-species. This is the first major revision of these mollusks since the early 1970'as part of the Indo-Pacific series. This is a used copy that is in very nice condition other than some scuff marks on the edges of the covers and two thin scratch marks on the front cover.
