This book has been out of print for quite a while. While it is not as complete as "Spiny Oysters" which was put together from the final notes of this author and published after his death, it is a very complete treatment of the majority of the shells that make up this colorful and beautiful family of marine bivalves. The color photographs are sharp and detailed and a nice size so that the details of the shells are quite clear. These books are new from a book dealer's inventory. There is a residual mark of tape residue on the front fly-leaf.
