1977, Privately Printed, Lisboa, Portugal, cardboard covers, 88 pages, about 6 by 8¾ inches,(15.25 by 22.25 cm) 66 black and white plates + maps and some site photographs.

This is an interesting little book that covers in some detail the shells found in the Cape Verde Islands that are off the coast of West Africa. Geographic isolation has led to several of these shells having a different appearance from their mainland counterparts, this is especially evident in the numerous forms of cone shells found in these islands. These shells are well described and illustrated. This book has the list of additions and corrections included which is not often found with other copies of this book we've seen. These books are used and the covers are slightly discolored. There are a few slight wrinkles near the top outer edge of the back cover. One copy has a small sticker with identification tag for its place in the library of the previous owner. The binding is nice and tight and the book should serve well for many years to come.
