There are several other books that have been done about the cross-over hobby of collecting stamps with shells figured on them. This is the most comprehensive book on that subject that I have seen. While there are undoubtedly many more stamps showing molluscs issued after the date of publication of this book, this book seem very complete up to the time it was printed. The book includes first day covers and special cancellations and sheets. The first volume describes and gives information about the shells pictured on the stamps which are illustrated in the second volume. The illustrations are nicely done and are in color.
