This book covers 745 species of Gastropods, Opisthobranchs, and Pulmonates collected from the three Netherlands Antilles Islands, located off the coast of Venezuela. The molluscan fauna of this part of the Caribbean is different from the fauna found typically throughout the rest of the Caribbean Sea. This book includes 58 species that were previously not known to science. The book illustrates 480 of the species found. Reference to the other species is given where they can be found in other books that cover Caribbean mollusks. Many of the species found in this book are small, and effective use of a scanning electron microscope has been made to help identify these species. Shell collecting is now prohibited in these islands but, this book gives us a good insight as to what shells live in these waters. This is a used copy but, it looks like a new book.
