In Search of Nautilus
by Peter Douglas Ward
ISBN 0-671-61951-9, published in 1988 by Simon & Schuster, NY for the New York Academy of Sciences, hardcover with printed dust jacket, about 6 by 9.25 inches, 15 by 24 cm., 239 pages, illustrated throughout with black and white photographs, charts and graphs and maps
This book can be looked at as an adventure story based upon the author's search for living specimens of these deep-water cephalopods and the book can also be used as a biological and ecological text for the living Nautiloids. Dr. Ward is an expert on these mollusks and his other book, "The Natural History of Nautilus", now like this book, out of print, as well as more than 50 scholarly articles about them, qualify him as a leading expert on this subject. This book is inexpensive and it is one that also is great reading material. It is a used copy but apart from some very slight fraying of the dust jacket, it can pass as new. There was also a paperback edition of this book, but the hardcovers are much more difficult to find and they do stand-up to use a lot better.
