ISBN 9783933922755, Published in 2012 by Planet Poster Editions, Gottingen, Germany, hardcover in laminated boards, A4 size, 20 by 29.75 cm., 8 by 11.75 inches, 679 pages plus 78 pages in color and with printed maps showing species and the parts of Europe in which they are found, the book is in English. And a few of the introductory pages are in German translation. This is an amazing book and it is the most complete survey of the land and fresh-water mollusks found in Europe. Each species is clearly shown in color along with a metric scale for their size and description of the shell and a map showing where the species is found. Some 10,000 photographs were taken for this book and have been narrowed down to illustrate approximately 1500 of the more and 2000 species of non-marine mollusks described from Europe. Bound onto the inside back cover is a very useful photo key to the species as well as a photo guide to the most commonly found species and a map showing the districts of some of the larger countries in which these mollusks are found. This is an extremely useful feature that allows you to fold out these guides and go through the book's pages without a lot of page turning. The book is one that everyone interested in the non-marine molluscan fauna of Europe will want to own.
