with the collaboration of
Marco Sola, Gianpiero Gariani & Fabien Goutal
ISBN 9791220331180, published by the authors (undated, probably 2020 or 2021) as Volume 3 of "I Diari Malacologici de Giuseppe Giulio Battaglia & Silvana Bertoli Battaglia", hardcover, about 8 by 11.75 inches (20 by 29.5cm), 158 pages including the index and 7 pages of introduction, 138 full-page size color plates of specimen shells and some living mollusks, additional photographic plates of varied size included in the final section, the text is in Italian and in English
"Conchiglie del Dhofar-Oman Dhofar's Seashells" is a photographic survey of marine mollusks found off the Southern part of Oman called Dhofar. There is almost no text except in the final section but instead presents the mollusks in stunningly beautiful color photographs. A greater number of the shells are commonly found in other parts of the Indian Ocean, but a fair number of shells presented are endemic to Oman. There are some photographs of the coastlines where these shells were found. The text, which is minimal, is in Italian and English. This is a great book of photographs, but the lack of text makes it not a great contribution to what is found in other books about the shells from this area.
